Description & Usage historiqueDescription & Historical Use
Cartridge created by DWM at the request of the German Navy by shortening the case of the 7.65×21 Parabellum and loading it with a 9 mm bullet; the Parabellum pistol in this calibre was adopted by the Navy and then by the German Army (P08), whose service pistol it was. After the Second World War it became the standard pistol and submachine-gun cartridge in NATO, except for the United States for some forty years.
