Dans les forces armées américaines, sa munition de tireur d'élite MK248 Mod 0, mise en service par l'US Navy en 1994, équipe le fusil XM2010.Magnum cartridge introduced by Winchester to fill the performance gap between its .264 and .338 Winchester Magnums; it fits a standard-length action, whereas the .300 H&H Magnum, of comparable performance, requires a magnum-length action. In the U.S. armed forces, its MK248 Mod 0 sniper round, fielded by the U.S. Navy in 1994, is used with the XM2010 rifle.
