Simulateur de visée pistolet (hausse & guidon)

Pistol Sighting Simulator (rear sight & front sight)

This teaching tool models the physics and optics of precision pistol shooting with an unsupported arm (no rest, one hand). It lets you study the deviations caused by misalignment of the sights (rear sight and front sight) and by the shooter's natural movement, and shows how vital it is to focus your eye on the front sight (sharpness).

1. Cible & Zone de visée1. Target & Aiming area

In precision shooting, aiming below the black ("white area") lets the black front sight stand out from the black aiming mark.
Focalisez toujours sur le guidon !The human eye can only focus on one plane at a time. Always focus on the front sight!

2. Bougé (Bras franc) & Vent2. Movement (unsupported arm) & Wind

90° = Vent de droite (pousse l'impact vers la gauche).90° = wind from the right (pushes the impact to the left).

3. Alignement des Organes (Wrist)3. Sight Alignment (Wrist)

Une erreur de 0.1 mm au guidon dévie le tir de plus de 4.5 mm à 10 mètres !An offset of the front sight within the rear notch represents an angular error of the wrist. An error of 0.1 mm at the front sight moves the shot by more than 4.5 mm at 10 metres!

Why sight alignment matters so much

In precision shooting with an unsupported arm (rear sight and front sight only), two types of error affect the bullet's point of impact:

  1. Alignment (angular) error: this is the position of the front sight relative to the rear notch. If the front sight is off-centre by 0.1 mm, the shooter's wrist has rotated through a tiny angle. Projected to 10 or 25 metres, however, this angular deviation is greatly amplified. A constant angular error is devastating for the score.
  2. Point-of-aim (parallel) error: this is the overall movement of the firearm relative to the target (tremor). If the shooter aligns the front and rear sights perfectly but the whole pistol moves by 2 mm relative to the target, the shot will only move by 2 mm on the card.

💡 Golden rule: it is better to release a shot with a slight parallel movement (perfect sights, moving a little on the target) than with misaligned sights held still on the centre of the target. Always keep your visual focus on the front sight, which must stay sharp, even if that leaves the aiming mark on the target blurred in the distance.
